Who We Are
Megan Atkinson, CPDT is a certified pet dog trainer, one of only 750 in the world. She maintains her certification by attending continuing education classes which allow her to stay abreast of the newest training and behavior techniques. Megan attended the world famous Tom Rose School for professional dog trainers. Her experience ranges from the training of family pets to the training and certification of narcotic dogs. Megan also has experience with solving specific behavioral problems. Her broad knowledge of training techniques is a result of working under several competitive trainers. Megan is committed to helping people truly understand and communicate with their dogs, along with strengthening the bonds between them.
Clicker Training
We use clicker training for all of our training services. The term "clicker training" is colloquial for using a sound such as a click to mark a specific behavior. The click provides information. It says to the dog, "What you just did has earned you a reward." The reward then follows the click - providing motivation for the dog to do it again. Clicker training is simply faster, clearer and easier for dogs to learn. The results are better too! Clicker training is cooperative, resulting in control without domination and respect without fear. Best of all, clicker training is fun for both the dog and owner.

In-Home Training
We design programs that will provide you with quality one-on-one instruction in the privacy of your own home. With our in-home training package, we offer personalized obedience courses, as well as focus on specific behavioral problems a dog may be experiencing. Combined with practice between lessons and your commitment, this course will enable you and your dog to achieve success. Should further assistance be needed, you may consult with our trainer at any time.
Private Lessons
Since all dogs and people are different, you may learn more successfully with individual training lessons. We will personalize training programs to fit the needs of you and your dog. We will conduct the training lessons at C.A.H. in our training room, at your convenience.
